These terms apply when you use voice.school at https://voice.school. By creating an account you accept them and our Privacy Policy. If you don't accept them, please don't use the service.
1. Who we are
voice.school is provided by Edaptio II ApS, CVR 43660578, H.C. Andersens Boulevard 33, 4. th., 1553 København V, Denmark ("we", "us"). You can reach us at contact@edaptio.com, and about personal data at privacy@edaptio.com.
2. The service
Teachers use voice.school to create classes and assignments. Students answer the questions out loud in the browser, or in writing where the assignment allows it. Recordings are transcribed automatically, integrity signals (such as switching tabs during an answer) are recorded, and the teacher reviews the answers, grades them and gives feedback.
voice.school is under active development. Features will change, and there will be bugs. We fix what we can as fast as we can.
3. Price
- The service is currently free. We don't ask for payment details.
- If we introduce paid plans, we tell you by email at least 30 days in advance. You will only ever pay if you actively choose a paid plan.
4. Accounts
- Teacher accounts are for teachers and other education staff aged 18 or over who use voice.school for teaching.
- Student accounts are for students who join a class through a link from their teacher. Use your account for the work your teacher sets.
- Give correct information when you sign up, keep your password to yourself, and don't let anyone else use your account. One account per person.
- If you think someone else has used your account, tell us right away at privacy@edaptio.com.
- If you sign in with Google, Google's terms also apply to your Google account.
5. Responsibilities of teachers and schools
When you use voice.school with students, you do so on behalf of your school, which is the data controller for the students' data. If you teach outside a school, for example as a private tutor, you are the data controller yourself. You and your school are responsible for:
- A legal basis. Having a legal basis for processing the students' data in voice.school, including voice recordings, automatic transcription with AI and integrity signals.
- A data processing agreement. Making sure your school has accepted our data processing agreement before you use voice.school with students. If you can't enter agreements on your school's behalf, ask your school leadership or data protection officer.
- Informing students, and their parents where relevant, before they start: that their answers are recorded and transcribed by AI, that recordings are kept for 12 months, that integrity signals are recorded, and who sees what. You can link to our Privacy Policy.
- Students' age. Deciding whether voice.school suits your students' age, and getting parents' consent where your national law or your school's rules require it.
- Sensible assignments. Not asking students to reveal sensitive personal data in their answers, such as health, religion or family matters, unless your school has a legal basis for it.
- Fair use of integrity signals. Integrity signals indicate; they don't prove. Talk to the student before you draw conclusions.
- Access to classes. Sharing class links only with your students, and removing students who should no longer have access.
- Your assessments. Grades and feedback are your professional judgement. Transcripts can be wrong, so listen to the recording when it matters.
6. Acceptable use
You may not:
- break the law or other people's rights, including their privacy and copyright
- upload, record or write anything that harasses, threatens or discriminates, or that is sexual, violent or otherwise harmful, especially towards children
- record other people without their permission, beyond normal use in a class
- try to get into accounts, classes or data that aren't yours, or get around the security, rate limits or integrity features
- scan, probe or load-test the service, or use bots or scrapers on it
- copy, reverse engineer or resell the service, or use it to build a competing product
- use voice.school for anything other than teaching and learning without our written agreement
We may remove content and suspend accounts that break these rules (section 11).
7. Content and intellectual property
- Your content stays yours. Teachers keep the rights to their classes, assignments, questions and feedback. Students keep the rights to their answers.
- What you allow us to do. You give us a free, non-exclusive licence to store, copy, process (including transcription) and show your content to the users who should see it, only to provide the service and only for as long as the content is in the service.
- We do not use your content to train AI models, and we never publish it.
- The software, design, name and logo of voice.school belong to us. These terms give you the right to use the service, nothing more.
- If you send us ideas or feedback, we may use them freely and without owing you anything.
8. Privacy
Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data. For the data we process on a school's behalf, the data processing agreement applies and takes precedence over these terms.
9. Availability and changes to the service
- We cannot promise that voice.school is always available. Where we can, we do planned maintenance outside school hours.
- We may change, add or remove features. If we remove a feature many people rely on, we tell you in advance where we can.
- If we decide to close voice.school, we tell you by email at least 60 days before, and then delete the data as described in the Privacy Policy.
- voice.school is not an archive. Recordings are deleted after 12 months, so keep grades and anything else you must keep in your school's own systems.
10. Liability
- While the service is free, voice.school is provided as it is. We do our best, but we don't guarantee that the service is free of errors, that transcripts are correct, or that integrity signals are correct or complete.
- We are not liable for indirect losses, such as lost time, lost profit or data you could have kept elsewhere.
- Our total liability to you for all claims in a calendar year is limited to DKK 5,000.
- These limits don't apply to damage we cause intentionally or through gross negligence, or where the law does not allow liability to be limited. They do not limit anyone's rights under data protection law. For a school's data, the data processing agreement governs.
11. Suspension, termination and deletion
- You can stop using voice.school at any time and delete your account in Settings. Deleting a teacher account also deletes the teacher's classes and all students' work in them. Deleting a student account deletes the student's answers and recordings.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or puts others at risk. We tell you first and give you a chance to put things right, unless the breach is serious or urgent.
- An account nobody has logged into for 24 months is deleted. We email a warning 30 days before.
- Sections 7, 10, 13 and this section continue to apply after an account is closed, as far as they are relevant.
12. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. For changes that matter, we tell you by email at least 30 days before they take effect, and the date at the top always shows the current version. If you keep using voice.school after a change takes effect, the new terms apply. If you don't accept them, you can delete your account before then.
13. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Danish law, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. If we disagree, let's first try to solve it together. Otherwise the dispute goes to the Danish courts, with the Copenhagen City Court (Københavns Byret) as the first instance. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live and can also bring a case there.
